جلسة حوارية "دعم مشاركة المرأة في منع الصراع والتأثير مع أصحاب القرار المحليين" في الديوانية

The Ishraqat for Development Organization (IDO) conducted a dialogue session in Al-Diwaniyah Governorate titled "Supporting Women's Participation in Conflict Prevention and Influencing Local Decision-Makers" on 22 June 2026, as part of the project "Sustainable Peace Initiative: Women's Role in Conflict Prevention and Response," supported by UN Women Iraq and funded by the Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF).

The session addressed a range of topics related to strengthening women's role in peacebuilding and conflict reduction. Participants emphasized the importance of engaging local decision-makers in conflict prevention efforts and promoting community stability. Discussions also focused on effective strategic mechanisms that can enhance early response capacities to challenges that may threaten social peace.

The session further highlighted the importance of establishing early warning networks and building sustainable partnerships among local communities, community leaders, and international stakeholders. Such partnerships contribute to more inclusive decision-making processes that respond effectively to local realities, while strengthening social cohesion and fostering a culture of dialogue and cooperation.

The session concluded with several recommendations, most notably the establishment of regular dialogue platforms and councils that bring together local decision-makers, representatives of civil society organizations, tribal leaders, and influential community figures. These platforms would aim to discuss challenges facing women, enhance their participation in decision-making processes, and involve them in the development and implementation of conflict-sensitive development plans that contribute to sustainable peace and community development
