شهدت محافظة المثنى نقاشات موسعة دعت إلى توسيع مشاركة المرأة في عمليات صنع القرار المحلي، واعتبارها شريكًا أساسيًا في جهود الوقاية من النزاعات وتعزيز الاستقرار المجتمعي، وذلك خلال جلسة حوارية نظمتها منظمة إشراقات للتنمية في 24 حزيران 2026.
وركزت الحوارات على أهمية الانتقال من التوصيات النظرية إلى خطوات عملية تعزز حضور النساء في رسم السياسات المحلية، إلى جانب تطوير أدوات قادرة على رصد بوادر التوتر المجتمعي والاستجابة لها في مراحلها المبكرة، بما يسهم في الحد من تفاقم النزاعات.
كما ناقش المشاركون سبل بناء تعاون مستدام بين المؤسسات الحكومية ومنظمات المجتمع المدني والقيادات المجتمعية، مؤكدين أن الشراكة بين هذه الأطراف تمثل ركيزة أساسية لتعزيز التماسك الاجتماعي، وتوفير بيئة تشجع على الحوار والتفاهم في معالجة القضايا المحلية.
ودعا المشاركون إلى إيجاد مساحات حوار منتظمة تجمع المسؤولين المحليين بممثلي المجتمع المدني والشخصيات المؤثرة، بهدف إشراك المرأة بصورة أكبر في مناقشة القضايا العامة، والمساهمة في إعداد الخطط التنموية التي تراعي تحديات النزاعات وتدعم الاستقرار طويل الأمد.
وتأتي هذه الجلسة ضمن مشروع "مبادرة السلام المستدام: دور المرأة للوقاية من النزاعات والاستجابة لها"، الذي تنفذه منظمة إشراقات للتنمية بدعم من هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة في العراق، وبتمويل من صندوق المرأة للسلام والعمل الإنساني.
Al-Muthanna Governorate witnessed extensive discussions calling for broader women's participation in local decision-making processes and recognizing women as key partners in conflict prevention and the promotion of community stability. These discussions took place during a dialogue session organized by Ishraqat for Development Organization on 24 June 2026.
The discussions emphasized the importance of moving beyond theoretical recommendations toward practical measures that strengthen women's role in shaping local policies. Participants also highlighted the need to develop effective mechanisms for identifying early signs of community tensions and responding to them at an early stage, thereby helping to prevent the escalation of conflicts.
Participants further explored ways to build sustainable cooperation among government institutions, civil society organizations, and community leaders. They stressed that partnerships among these stakeholders are essential for strengthening social cohesion and creating an environment that encourages dialogue and mutual understanding in addressing local issues.
The participants also called for establishing regular dialogue platforms that bring together local officials, civil society representatives, and influential community figures to enhance women's participation in public discussions and contribute to the development of plans that address conflict-related challenges and support long-term stability.
This event was held as part of the "Sustainable Peace Initiative: Women's Role in Conflict Prevention and Response" project, implemented by Ishraqat for Development Organization with the support of UN Women Iraq and funding from the Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF).
